Convention

Every year, Tau Beta Pi hosts the Convention - an annual gathering of all the chapters into a governing body to conduct business, socialize and network, and participate in professional development activities. Traditionally, the President of each chapter will always go to attend the Convention as a voting delegate. However, several chapters can use their own funds to send additional member(s) to the Convention as non-voting delegates.

Attending the Convention is an amazing opportunity to grow as a person and as a professional, and you can even make some new lifelong friends here! Members also typically get to explore the host chapter's hometown and/or region which allows for more socialization and great memories to be made!

Association Structure

One of the most important aspects of Tau Beta Pi is the association's structure. Although we have an Executive Council that include the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Councillors, it's the collegiate and alumni chapters that make some of the most important decisions for the Association. The Convention embodies the collegiate and alumni chapters, and the Executive Council's actions are reported to the Convention every year.

New Friends and Places

Convention is not just about business for the Association. It's a time where Tau Bates get to meet each other have explore the host city and surrounding area! It is not uncommon for lifelong friendships to begin at a Tau Beta Pi convention, and it is also a great way to network.

Tau Beta Pi also takes some time to explore the local area: restaurants, parks, statues, and more. In the 2024 Convention, all attendees explored Mount Rushmore in South Dakota! It was also here that the official group photo was taken.
